So, I'm walking through my living room. The TV was on as I passed from hall to kitchen and my mind wasn't so much on the idiot box as it was the sandwich I was about to prepared.
"...ages 45 to 65 you cannot be turned down regardless of health..."
"What!?"
I stopped and turned as I heard the words. Sure enough, it was one of those commercials. You know the kind. A group of white-haired old men standing on a golf green. A blue-haired old lady being tenderly cared for by a nurse who appears more happy than she realistically would be. The scenes have color reminiscent of a Tide commercial, everything is bright and happy, and an actor posing as a "real doctor" in a lab coat -- or a washed-up blue-haired actor from the Lloyd Bridges era -- talks about the miracle insurance options.
But wait. I'm 45!
I just spent a summer raving on my bicycle and how I was really getting into sports more and more. Should I really exchange my two-wheeled road-rager for a set of clubs? Wow. Age 45 to 65, I can't be turned down.
Huh. I wonder what Matlock's up to these days.
