I never was really one of those "American Idol" nuts. In fact, I've never really been that fanatical over any TV series that runs more than four hours a week.
But I'm following it this year for two reasons: I've got money on it. And, I'm actually liking it.
I can't say for sure who the winner's going to be yet, but I do have some favorites. See if you agree with me. And, if you're not an Idolizer, come back tomorrow. I'll be talking about something else then.
Rigg's Idol Faves (in order based on last night's performance):
CASEY ABRAMS
PIA TOSCANO (surprising, because she wasn't one of my favorites until last night)
JAMES DURBIN (again, surprising, because up until last night, I thought he was too much like Adam Lambert)
NAIMA ADEDAPO (one of my running favorites and, even though she had breathing issues, her moves were star quality)
JACOB LUSK (down a couple of notches only because I thought he came out too high and ended up screaming)
SCOTTY MCREERY (didn't like the song and his voice is too 'nitchy'. also follows as I'm not a twang-Country fan)
THIA MEGIA (I thought the jazzy change-up was good. Pitchy, I agree, but good)
PAUL MCDONNALD (way down. sorry, but the combination of his silly 'skipping' and the fact his soft voice seemed to be more laughy-spoken than sung brings him down a bit)
HALEY REINHART (her rendition of "Blue" had some awkward spots, I thought, but she killed me on the last three notes)
STEFANO LANGONE
LAUREN ALAINA
ASHTON JONES
KAREN RODRIGUEZ
Sorry. Those final four weren't "bad," just forgetable.
