Well, top of the page, I'd like to proudly beam over the fact that I finished chapter one of the tentatively titled Brass Heart. The new blognovel has grown legs rather quickly and I should have no problem getting her rolling sooner than expected.
Along those lines, I've also started getting cover designs for the cover design contest. All I'll say is: inspiring. The contest is still going on, and you can enter as often as you like.
Friday night I treated my wife to "Purple Date." We'd just gotten Purple Rain on Blu-Ray and decided to turn it into a date. We had dinner at the Purple Steer, we dressed in purple, we watched the movie, then had ice cream. It was a great time and the movie brought back a lot of memories of the 80s. The only thing I don't miss about the decade? The hair.
In health news, I had another semi-big Atrial Fibrillation attack this weekend. Saturday morning I woke up at 1 a.m. with a high-speed ticker. My BP was up but my heart's pace soon slowed and just kept skipping beats. I decided not to go to the hospital and dredge through the same old aspirin treatment. That made for a rather lazy Saturday as I was worn out and wanted to take it easy to see if there would be any aftershocks. There were a couple skips in the day, but all in all the day ended fine. We played Rockband and bought about $10 worth of songs. My wife and daughter sang duets while I sat it out. Around 11pm I was feeling the heart tug to get some sleep. I hate getting old.
Sunday was pleasant. Got out of the house and ran some errands with my wife. Ended the day playing a videogame. Hit the sack at 10.
This morning I'm anxious to get the week rolling. I'm more anxious to see my doctor on the 17th and my sleep study on the 14th. In the meantime, I've got a blognovel to work on and a life to live.
